KDE's Supporting Members Newsletter
As the second quarter of 2025 wraps up, we celebrate the continued momentum powered by the KDE community’s creativity, collaboration, and passion.
This quarter saw significant progress across the KDE ecosystem. From steady progress on Plasma 6 to impactful community-driven events and developer sprints, we continue to advance our mission of creating free, user-friendly technology for everyone. Here’s a look at what we have achieved together in Q2.
Plasma 6.4 is here, and it feels even more like
/home
, as it becomes smoother, friendlier and more helpful. It improves on nearly every front, with progress being made in accessibility, color rendering, tablet support, window management, and more.
For KDE ⚙️ Gear 25.04, no task is too small. Whether you’re managing personal files on your laptop or overseeing servers located thousands of miles away, KDE offers powerful tools to help you stay in control.
This update enhances performance, fixes bugs, and modernizes features for a more efficient and stable user experience.
This update has new developments over the past few months!

We have created a new "for" page, this time "for Windows 10 exiles", in the context of the endof10.org campaign. In it, we explain how Linux with Plasma can help users escape the deranged cycle of having to buy a new computer every time Microsoft forces upgrades to its operating system.
During the last quarter, we represented KDE at various events and organized the Plasma Sprint.
This year, the Plasma Sprint happened in Graz, Austria, from 21 to 27 April. Here are some blogs to know what happened:
